These are the shows that are opening the week of September 11, 2017.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

OMNIUM GATHERUM, Theatre By Committee

Believing that lively, contentious debate is the heart and soul of a dinner party, a domestic artist and perfect hostess has invited an assortment of opinionated personalities to share a surreal meal. The guests at this exquisite feast of food and argument confront the global implications of September 11th and beyond.

At St. Luke’s Church, closes September 23

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14

MISS, Unit 102

Set in the aftermath of a shocking accident at a boarding school, Miss explores the tenuous connection between a high school teacher, her fiancé, and a troubled student whose lives have been irrevocably changed by tragedy.

At the Assembly, closes October 1

WAITING FOR GODOT, Soulpepper

On a bare road in the middle of nowhere, two world-weary friends wait. While anticipating, they speculate, quarrel, joke and ponder life’s greater questions. As dusk approaches, two figures appear on the horizon.

At the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, closes October 7

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15

PICTURE THIS, Soulpepper

For a group of struggling artists, a visiting Hollywood producer could be the key to a glamorous career in show business. Their dreams all hinge on filming a Napoleonic saga in only two weeks.

At the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, closes October 7

CLOSINGS

These are the shows that are closing the week of September 11, 2017.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

ASMRLAND, A Pink Door/Alma Matters Productions

Bell Angele has a simple quest: to fall asleep peacefully. But before she can, two fairies from ASMRland are here to reveal and repair the dark corners of her brain. ASMRtist uses Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response to bring audiences together to explore the stimuli that make our skin tingle and our minds race.

At the Helen Gardiner Phelan Playhouse

MOCKINGBIRD CLOSE, INpulse Theatre

The parents take to the street, hoping for answers from their eccentric, disturbed neighbours. The neighbours are not forthcoming, and instead reveal dark, buried secrets—the things that happen behind closed doors. Meanwhile, “the witch” waits “at the dark black mouth that is the entrance to Mockingbird Close.”

At Red Sandcastle Theatre
