These are the plays to see in Toronto for the week of April 15th – 21st, 2019.
April 11 - 28
Two neighbours. One is maniacally neat, the other a manic slob. All seems relatively calm until a beautiful young woman moves in down the hall, and jealous panic ensues. Performed without words, Bigre is a painfully funny story of the disastrous unravelling of day-to-day urban life.
Our Fathers, Sons, Lovers and Little Brothers
April 11 - 18
It’s February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida. A seventeen-year-old Black boy leaves a 7/11, carrying Skittles and a bottle of iced tea. He never makes it home. Our Fathers, Sons, Lovers and Little Brothers tells the story of one teen’s final moments, and his intricate dance to the afterlife.
The Sad Blisters
April 12 - 27
Joanne, the serial monogamist, is getting married . . . again. And to a man with the same name as her ex, and her ex before that. To make things weirder, she wants her sisters to wear their bridesmaid dresses from her previous weddings. What could possibly go wrong?
At the Commons Space until April 27th. For tickets and more information, click here.
