Theatre This Week: September 2 – 8

Victory

July 14 - October 12

A brutal and brilliant play by Howard Barker. Set in the aftermath of Charles II’s Restoration on the throne of England. The central character is a Mrs. Bradshaw who is a 17th century widow fighting to give her puritan husband a proper burial. How much of her own human dignity is she willing to risk?

At the Shaw Festival until October 12. For tickets and more information, click here.

Cyrano de Bergerac

July 27 - October 20

Cyrano de Bergerac is a swashbuckling 17th century swordsman who can do anything … except tell the woman he loves, Roxane, how he feels. This is a breathtaking tale for those of us who are hopeless romantics, about the torture of loving from afar.

At the Shaw Festival until October 20. For tickets and more information, click here.

Rope

April 12 - October 12

1920s. London. Two college students commit murder and host a party for the victim’s friends and hide his body as the centerpiece…all to see if they can pull it off. Can they hold their nerve? Can you?
