10 Memorable Lady Macbeths at Stratford

With Macbeth, “Shakespeare virtually invented the horror movie,” the Shakespearean scholar Stephen Greenblatt has written. That horror is perpetrated by the doomed Scottish king, but so much of the play’s damage—and its ambition, and energy, and drive—comes from his wife.
