With the lights fading on another year of fleeting thrills in dark rooms, we asked 12 Ontario performing arts writers to reflect on a moment that stayed with them. The results mainly stem from Toronto theatre productions, but there are a few surprises weaved in.

As far as Beatriz Pizano is concerned, every theatre artist already has a Dora
"From 2010 to the pandemic, [Aluna Theatre's] energy was totally devoted to creating a community of Latinx artists," says this year's Silver Ticket Award recipient. "Now they’ve grown up, and a lot of them are being produced by other companies. Creating that space has been a huge responsibility and I never take it lightly."

TAPA unveils 2025 Dora Award winners
The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced the winners of the 2025 Dora Awards during a Monday evening ceremony hosted by Peter Fernandes, with 26 individual artists and companies receiving their first-ever Doras.

TAPA reveals 2025 Dora Award nominees
This morning, the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced the nominees for the 45th annual Dora Awards, which will be given out at Meridian Hall on June 30.
