Sarah Kitz’s production leans into the play’s real strength: its exploration of narrative. The characters attempt to narrativize the play’s events before, after, and even while they take place. But their failure to impose narrative logic onto complex realities only results in escalating cycles of violence.
Co-produced by Montreal’s Black Theatre Workshop and directed by Dian Marie Bridge, Vierge will run from March 18 to 30 at the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre in Ottawa.

“At the end of the day, the play is trying to show the messiness of parenthood, that it's not about perfection,” says Why It’s imPossible playwright Sophia Fabiilli ahead of the show’s run at the Great Canadian Theatre Company in Ottawa. “It's about finding where the discomfort is.”
