Stage Door Confessional: The Understudies

An artist’s job is to take texts, ideas, and directions from other people to help bring narratives to life. But every artist has their own stories, too. After all, storytelling is human nature.

Stage Door Confessional host Thalia Kane has a deep love for hearing the personal stories of the many artists she’s surrounded by, and she came to realize these artists don’t always have the chance to tell them. In this brand-new podcast, Thalia gives space for these artists to talk about their experiences—the thrilling, the nerve-wracking, the awkward, the wonderful—in the brilliant world of theatre.

On the first episode, you’ll hear from artists who have taken on the role of the understudy. Guests include Kaylee Harwood (Beautiful, national tour; Jesus Christ Superstar, Broadway), Andrew Lawrie (Stratford Festival, Shaw Festival), and Tess Benger (Shaw Festival, Soulpepper).
