REVIEW: Stratford’s Saturday, Sunday, Monday simmers into a rambunctious scenata napoletana
A pot of tomato sauce left unattended on the stove can only hold itself together for so long. So it is with the Priore family at the centre of Eduardo De Filippo's Saturday, Sunday, Monday. They bottle things up, turning every disappointment into a cordial grudge until resentment bubbles over in melodramatic eruptions.

Developed in collaboration with Groundling Theatre, this A Midsummer Night’s Dream revels in the plights of its love-drugged protagonists through clever clowning, live music, and an animated landscape.

“It’s got to be my favourite [Shakespeare play] at this point,” says Abbey. “I don't understand why it's so rarely done. It’s listed as a ‘problem play,’ and I see that, but I have had such beautiful experiences with it throughout my life… I think it has the ability to unite audience and cast in a deeply human event.”
