Crow’s Theatre reveals intimate cabaret programming

Something intimate is coming to Crow’s Theatre.
This season, the company will present Crow’s Cabaret, a series of concerts and small-scale productions, alongside its roster of larger plays. Presented in Crow’s cosy Studio Theatre, this programming will show off local talent in a number of settings, from standup comedy to acoustic musical sets.
After a sold-out run of performances by Schitt’s Creek alum Noah Reid in September, Crow’s Cabaret will feature Broadway performer Sara Farb and composer Britta Johnson in a concert called Very Serious Women. Fans of musical theatre can expect to hear a variety of tunes from musicals big and small, performed by two of Canada’s leading musical talents.
In early October, multi-hyphenate Stephen Brower will bring his Edinburgh Fringe hit Palatable Gay Robot to the Studio Theatre, in a memorable solo show that combines standup, singing, and storytelling. Audiences can also expect appearances from fan-favourite local actors such as Aurora Browne (The Bidding War and Baroness Von Sketch Show) and Linda Kash (Casey and Diana).
Rounding out the fall Crow’s Cabaret programming is Solid Gold: An Evening with Tynomi Banks, in which the legendary drag queen will share tidbits from her career as a superstar. Per a Crow’s press release, Banks will perform “iconic numbers of celebrated Black divas” as well as new material interspersed with funny stories and life lessons.
